Best Practices to Keep Your Data Secure on Public Wi-Fi

Accessing the Internet using private Wi-Fi connections at home and in the office is safer than accessing the Internet using public Wi-Fi.

Why?

Simply because on private Wi-Fi, you can set up the Wi-Fi on your own and you know the people who are connecting to it.

While on public Wi-Fi, you don’t know how it has been set up and who else is sharing the network. It may say it is a restaurant Wi-Fi, but it could be just a random guy with a laptop who is trying to steal your sensitive data such as your email address and password.

Let’s be real. You may often connect to a public Wi-Fi without thinking twice, especially when it’s free.

You love connecting to public Wi-Fi and so do hackers!

I’m not saying not to use public Wii, just proceed with caution.
